Tom Dolan started his higher education career with Abilene Christian University in 1981 and went on in 2002 to help establish the Texas Tech University Higher Education Teaching Site in Abilene, Texas. Dolan has served in a variety of roles in higher education including broadcast engineer, College IT Director, and instructional technology support including developing online courses and programs. Tom serves in Texas Tech Worldwide eLearning by leading the instructional design team, the online course quality review process, as well as supporting state and federal compliance for online programs and off-campus locations. Tom is married to Toni, and has three daughters and two grandchildren.
Matt Johnson is as an associate in Cooley's Regulatory Education practice group and resident in the Washington, DC office. Johnson was associated with Dow Lohnes, which merged with Cooley in 2014. His practice primarily focuses on assisting higher education institutions and education technology companies regarding a variety of regulatory issues including state and federal privacy laws at the K-12 and postsecondary levels, including FERPA, state authorization and distance education issues, professional licensure, and veterans and military education benefits concerns. Johnson works with institutions to resolve issues at the U.S. Department of Education, the U.S. Department of Veterans' Affairs, state educational agencies, and state approving agencies for veterans' benefits.
Terry Reeves is the dean of instruction at CCCOnline. Reeves oversees an academic program consisting of approximately 250 courses taught by 450 instructors. She also oversees the CCCOnline Instructional Design Team, co-chairs the QM initiatives at CCCOnline, and serves as part of the Colorado Community College System’s VP Council. Prior to joining CCCOnline, she was Math faculty at Red Rocks Community College (Lakewood, CO) for 18 years, serving as the Department Chair and as the Math State Discipline Chair. Reeves also started the online math program at Red Rocks. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma State University and her Master’s in Applied Math from the University of Colorado. She and her family are huge Denver Broncos fans and are patiently waiting for their next Super Bowl win.
Luke Dowden is the director of the office of distance learning at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. As the founding director, Dowden led the creation and adoption of distance learning policies that support quality course development, program growth, faculty professional development and student success. He is a member of the WCET Steering Committee serving as Chair. Previously, he served as dean of Accelerated Learning at Bossier Parish Community College in Louisiana. Dowden earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Northwestern State University of Louisiana and earned a Doctor of Education in Higher Education Administration from Nova Southeastern University. He was the inaugural winner of the Bruce N. Chaloux Award for Early Career Excellence in Online Education presented by the Online Learning Consortium in 2014.
