Beth Davis is the co-founder and CEO of the PAR Framework. She has a proven record of bringing technology products to market having previously served as the vice president and general manager of Macromedia, Inc., where she was responsible for managing their entire suite of products including Flash, Dreamweaver, Flash Communication Server, Contribute, Director and Authorware. She has assembled a team of professionals up to the challenge of bringing this high-tech, high-touch project to the higher education market.
Rob Robinson is a senior director of Client Success at Civitas Learning where he works with colleges and universities to help them leverage data analytics to further their mission of student success. Prior to coming to Civitas Learning, Robinson was a principal strategist at Blackboard, a position in which he provided strategic consulting services to higher education clients in the US and abroad. Between 2010 and early 2012, he served as assistant vice provost for Educational Technology at the University of Texas at San Antonio where he led online and hybrid course development and supported faculty and staff across the institution. From 1999 until 2010, Robinson was a key leader with the University of Texas TeleCampus, a large-scale, System-wide organization supporting fully online degree programs, many of which were inter-institutional collaborative programs.
Mike Sharkey is the President and founder of Blue Canary, a data and analytics services firm based in Phoenix, Arizona. Sharkey has been on the leading edge of analytics in higher education industry, helping institutions leverage their data to improve student success. His experiences include work with the University of Phoenix and collaborations with the Predictive Analytics and Reporting Framework. Prior to Blue Canary, he worked as the director of Academic Analytics for the Apollo Group (University of Phoenix), he was a manager with Deloitte Consulting in their high tech practice, and held a variety of roles with both large and small technology companies.
John Whitmer is the platform analytics and educational research director at Blackboard, where he leads the development of cross-application Learning Analytics for learners, instructors, and administrators. These analytics provide insights into how learners and faculty interact with educational technology applications, the fit/gap between product design and use, and the educational outcomes resulting from those interactions. Prior to joining Blackboard in 2014, Whitmer managed large-scale distributed educational technology projects for the California State University, California Community Colleges, and an NSF-sponsored research consortium. He is also an applied researcher with published studies in Learning Analytics and MOOC effectiveness research, and currently serves on the Educause ECAR working group on Predictive LMS Analytics. He holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from UC Davis and a Master’s Degree in Sociocultural Anthropology from UC Davis.
Linda Baer has served over thirty years in numerous executive level positions in higher education including senior program officer in postsecondary success for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, senior vice chancellor for academic and student affairs in the Minnesota State College and University System, and senior vice president and interim president at Bemidji State University. Currently she is principal senior consultant for i4Solutions focusing on inspiring leaders to new levels of innovation, integration, and implementation of solutions that improve student success and transform institutions for the future.
